Toronto Beaches girls win silver at Provincials

The Toronto Beaches U11 girls team finished an unprecedented regular season of Ontario Women’s Field Lacrosse, culminating with a second place overall ranking. The team made the final four at Provincials by winning games against Owen Sound, Orillia and St. Catherines.

In the semifinals, Mimico pushed the Beaches to the brink, but Bailey Jacobs scored five goals for the Beaches to help them to an 8-7 double overtime win and to clinch the silver medal.

The Beaches played courageously against Oshawa for the gold medal, possessing the ball as much as their opponent, but were unable to score as efficiently as Oshawa.

The U11 Beaches girls are a very dedicated team, having played in three U.S. tournaments in the weeks leading up to Provincials. Without a doubt, these experiences combined with practices twice per week and lacrosse camps in July helped the Beaches prevail in the semi-finals to reach its greatest success in the history of the Beaches girls program.
