Called Nature’s Light, this exhibition focuses on the strength of light, vivid colour and texture. Jenkins “sculpts oil on canvas to capture the sensual tranquil qualities of her encounters with the natural environment.” In 2007 she was invited to London, England to exhibit at the Royal Academy of Arts, Summer Exhibit.

Beach artist Marlene Pape will be exhibiting at Gallery 888, 888 Queen St. E. (416-462-9930), from May 21 through June 1. Her show is called Skyscapes… and a tree or two, and features the former teacher’s recent paintings.
Ten paintings by Pape – along with six of her framed photographs – were recently chosen to grace the ‘Get Wired’ model home at the National Home Show at Exhibition Place in early April.
This exhibit at Gallery 888 is just her third show, but considering she became a full time artist only four years ago, I’d say she is what you might call an up-and-comer. See for yourself at the opening reception May 23 from 6-9 p.m., visit www.marlenepapefineart.com, or www.gallery888.com.
