Winterfolk Blues and Roots Festival hosts preview concert Saturday night at The Black Swan

The Winterfolk Blues and Roots Festival will hold a preview night on Saturday at The Black Swan on Danforth Avenue.

Winterfolk Blues and Roots festival presents the Winterfolk XVII Preview and Benefit show at The Black Swan Tavern, 154 Danforth Ave., this Saturday, Dec. 8.

The preview and benefit will give Winterfolk fans a chance for a sneak peek of what’s on tap for next year’s 17th annual festival, which will take place in February. Saturday night’s event will also include a birthday bash for festival founder and director Brian Gladstone.

Organizers are asking that a minimum of $10 donation be given at the door as the ticket entrance fee, with all proceeds going towards the festival of artists taking part.

Doors open Saturday at 7:30 p.m., and the music goes from 8 p.m. till midnight.

The night’s artists will include David Storey and The Side Road Scholars, HOTCHA!, Chloe Watkinson, Tony Quarrington, Brian Gladstone, and the Glen Hornblast Band.

The Winterfolk XVII Festival, which is a celebration of weatherproof urban blues and roots music, will take place from Feb. 22-24.
